FAQs about our Summer Group Counseling

What is group counseling or group therapy?

Group therapy is a process of understanding more about yourself and others in a safe environment. These sessions will be led by Macy Faust, a Master-level counselor from UNT (supervised by Carrie Manning, LPC-S, RPT-S). This will be an excellent opportunity for your child to grow and build their skills in a supportive environment while also practicing social navigation with their peers.

How long are the group counseling sessions?

Each session is around 1 hour. These sessions will be scheduled weekly starting Monday, June 3rd through July 22nd on a weekly basis. We hope that your child can attend every session, but make-up sessions can arranged.

What ages can participate?

We will have the groups divided by age (or development needs) from ages 3 through 16.

What is the cost of group counseling?

The cost is $25 per session. Unfortunately, we are not able to file insurance for group therapy.

How do I sign my child up?

Please complete the form by clicking the “Sign Up” button. After we receive your information, our office will contact you to set up a free parent intake telehealth session. We will also send you consent forms to complete before the parent intake session. During the Intake, we will go over the consent forms and discuss your child's needs.

What will my child be doing and learning?

Please see the group counseling descriptions above for more information. For elementary ages, we will utilize play-based and creative learning. For tweens and teens, we will use an activities-based approach through art and sand tray activities.
