About Me:
My joy is to work with kids, teens, and adults. I love the growth that happens over those years and enjoy walking beside adolescents and families on that journey. Building a strong, trusting relationship is my goal!
Being a counselor for over 20 years, I integrate an eclectic style in my work with kids and teens, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I strive to make therapy engaging and interactive with my clients. I utilize play-based interventions for younger clients, and I use activities-based and creative interventions for teens, all while building an atmosphere of trust and safety.
My experience as a middle school and high school counselor has allowed me to work with a wide range of challenges that teens face today. Many of the teens I work with struggle with relational problems, anger management, low self-esteem, peer conflict, anxiety/social anxiety, depression, school issues, grief/loss, and difficulties coping with life’s problems. Parenting kids and teens can be tricky as you try to navigate supporting your child’s emotional health while enforcing rules and boundaries. I can help partner with you to find the right balance.
My husband and I have five children, ages 13 to 25, so we are busy! I love to do anything outdoors, work out, and travel. I spend my free time reading, watching Netflix, and cooking new recipes.
