FAQs about our Summer Group Counseling

What is group counseling or group therapy?

Group therapy helps kids, teens, and adults better understand themselves and others in a safe, supportive environment. Led by licensed counselors, groups offer a chance to build skills, grow confidence, and practice communication and connection with others.

How long are the group counseling sessions?

Each session lasts about 50–60 minutes and meets weekly. Most groups run for 10+ weeks. We ask participants to commit to the full group to get the most benefit.

Do you take insurance for groups?

At this time, our groups are self-pay and not billed through insurance. They focus on building skills, support, and connection around specific topics, rather than treating a mental health diagnosis, which is typically required for insurance coverage.

We do accept insurance for individual therapy. If you’re unsure which option is the best fit, we’re happy to help guide you.

What is the cost of group counseling?

Group fees vary by offering, but typically range from $40 to $60 per session. Each group is led by a licensed counselor, and group therapy provides a more affordable alternative to individual sessions.

At this time, we are not able to accept insurance for group counseling.

Since space is limited and each spot is reserved just for you, the group fee will be billed weekly, even if sessions are not attended.

How do I sign my child up?

Please complete the form below. After we receive your information, our office will contact you to make sure the group is a good fit and to schedule an intake session with the therapist. We will also send you consent forms to complete before the parent intake session. During the intake session, we will go over the consent forms and discuss your child's needs.

What will my child be doing and learning?

Please see the descriptions above for more information about each group. If you have questions on if the group would be a good fit for you or your child, call our office, and we are happy to help. All groups are supportive, inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming.
