About Me:
Hi, I’m Andrea! I’m a therapist at Reach Counseling, and I’m passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where children, teens, young adults, and families feel safe, understood, and empowered. I especially enjoy working with children and adolescents, including neurodivergent clients and kids with big feelings. I support clients navigating anxiety, OCD, emotional regulation challenges, behavioral concerns, self-esteem struggles, trauma, family stress, and life transitions. I also enjoy supporting parents and families navigating complex systemic challenges, including foster care, kinship care, family transitions, and parenting stress. My approach is rooted in helping children feel accepted for who they are without judgment, pressure, or the need to “mask.” I am also a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist and value creating an inclusive environment where children and families feel comfortable expressing themselves in the language that feels most natural to them.
My approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family. I utilize Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and child-centered interventions to create engaging and meaningful sessions that meet clients where they are developmentally and emotionally. As a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) and Positive Discipline Parent Educator, I am passionate about helping caregivers better understand their child’s emotional world while strengthening connection, communication, and trust within the family system.
Professionally, I have experience working with children, adolescents, and families across community mental health, nonprofit organizations, foster care and kinship programs, and family support settings. My background includes supporting children who have experienced trauma, emotional and behavioral challenges, family transitions, and difficulties related to emotional regulation and social connection. I also have extensive experience working alongside neurodivergent children through individualized behavioral and social-emotional support, helping families better understand their child’s unique strengths and needs.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading, traveling, coloring by number, and spending time with my fiancé and fur baby. I truly look forward to connecting with you and supporting you or your child throughout your healing and growth journey.
